Taifa Stars to Kick off Afcon 2019 campaign against Senegal

Dar es Salaam. National soccer team, Taifa Stars will kick off its campaign in the Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) against Senegal on June 23, African football governing body (Caf) have revealed.

Taifa Stars is in group C together with Algeria and Kenya’s Harambee Stars.  Taifa Stars will then play Kenya on June 27 at the June 30th Stadium in Cairo from 7pm. During the day, Senegal will play Algeria at the same venue from 5pm.

Tanzania’s final group Stage will be on July 1 hosting Algeria from 7pm while Kenya will be playing Senegal at the same time.

 Thee fixture show that the host Egypt will play DR Congo while Uganda’s the Cranes will meet the Warriors of Zimbabwe.

In Group B, the Nigerian Super Eagles will face two teams that qualified for the first time at this competition, Burundi and Madagascar. Another team in the group is Guinea.

In Group D, Morocco under Hervé Renard manager will meet Côte d'Ivoire again. The Atlas Lions will have to beware of South Africa and the small thumb, Namibia

In Group E, the Tunisia (Carthage Eagles) will face the Mali Eagles and the Mauritania, for whom this is their first participation in the Afcon, and Angola. The Cameroonian defending champion will face the Black Stars of Ghana, Benin and Guinea Bissau

The top two teams in each of the six groups will progress to the round of 16, along with the four best third-placed teams at the 32nd edition of Afcon
