Azam orders new trucks in fleet increase

What you need to know:

“This is what makes Fuso the complete transport solution for any manufacturing investor,” he said at the hand over event.

Dar es Salaam. Tanzania’s leading consumer products manufacturer, Bakhresa Group of Companies (commonly known as Azam) has become the first of Diamond Motors (Hansa) committed long-term clients to confirm the order of new Fuso trucks.

Diamond Motors Limited, the exclusive distributors of the Fuso brand in Tanzania, officially handed over the first eight brand new trucks to Bakhresa Group of Companies in Dar es Salaam earlier this week.

The event took place at Hansa offices off Nyerere Road in a move that signifies the nurturing of the two companies’ long-standing and mutually profitable relationship that has existed for over two decades.

Owned by Daimler, Mitsubishi Fuso medium and heavy-duty trucks assure the operator extensive reliability and durability; high fuel efficiency; low maintenance costs and exceptional loading capacity, according to Diamond Motors general manager Vikram Verma.

“This is what makes Fuso the complete transport solution for any manufacturing investor,” he said at the hand over event.

Trucks such as these are also expected to play an increasingly important role in realizing Tanzania’s green revolution initiative propped up by the Kilimo Kwanza (Agriculture First) policy.

This is largely because the country’s vast arable agricultural land is positioned in the remote interiors where accessibility can be a challenging factor due to underdeveloped network of roads.

And according to Azam’s Transport Manager, Mr Omar Said Athumani, the company needs a modern fleet of trucks to effectively transport its products to export markets.
