Diamond and Vanessa Mdee nominated at Mamas

After weeks of anticipation VIMN Africa and MTV Base finally revealed the nominees’ list for the fourth edition of the MTV Africa Music Awards (Mama).

In a highly competitive star studded list of nominees Tanzania’s Diamond and Vanessa Mdee were the only one who made the cut.

Diamond following up on last year’s nomination got three nods in the Best Collabo, Best Live and Best Male categories.

 The nominations mean that Diamond has now been nominated for the awards for the third time in a row with the first being in 2010.

Former MTV VJ Vanessa Mdee on her part was nominated in the Best Female category which is her first nomination at the Pan African awards. 

In the prestigious Best Male act AKA (South Africa), Davido (Nigeria), Diamond (Tanzania), Sarkodie (Ghana) and Wizkid (Nigeria), will strut it out to see who the best is.

Vanessa Mdee on her part will compete with Bucie  and Busiswa both from South Africa, Seyi Shay, and Yemi Alade from Nigeria.

Speaking at the event, VIMN Africa’s Alex Okosi,,they were thrilled to pay tribute to the dynamism, creativity and passion of all the MAMA 2015 nominees.

“Applauding music and achievement all over the continent, the MAMA recognises the contribution of both enduring icons on the African music scene, and new and emerging talents of the future.”

The MTV Africa Music AwardsKwaZulu-Natal2015,are set to take place on Saturday July at the Durban International Convention Centre (Durban ICC), KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.
