Dar es Salaam. Airtel Money Tanzania yesterday launched two new campaigns — Airtel Money Ni Buree and Ni Nafuu — in a bid to make digital financial services more affordable and accessible to Tanzanians.

The twin campaigns are aimed at reducing the cost of everyday transactions, reinforcing Airtel’s position as one of the most affordable providers in the mobile money market. The company says the move also supports government efforts to expand financial inclusion and accelerate the transition to a cashless economy.

Speaking at the launch in Dar es Salaam, Airtel Money Director Andrew Rugamba said the initiative was designed to give customers better value while easing the cost of money transfers.

Airtel Money Ni Buree and Ni Nafuu makes sending money and cashing out more affordable, helping our customers save more while giving them the freedom to do more with their money,” he said.

He added that Airtel-to-Airtel transfers via the Airtel App will now be free, a move expected to benefit millions of users who rely on mobile money for daily transactions such as purchasing airtime, paying for electricity, and other digital services.

“At Airtel Money, we believe financial services should be affordable, inclusive, and accessible to everyone. This is how we drive financial inclusion and make digital transactions a reality for all Tanzanians,” Rugamba said.

The Ni Buree and Ni Nafuu offers are also expected to strengthen the country’s digital financial ecosystem by encouraging greater adoption of mobile money platforms and widening access to affordable services.

Airtel Tanzania’s Public Relations Manager, Jackson Mmbando, said customer feedback played a central role in shaping the initiative.

“Our customers have told us they want services that are both more affordable and more convenient. These new campaigns deliver on both, further reinforcing Airtel’s leadership in providing innovative and inclusive financial services that align with Tanzania’s vision for a cashless, digital economy,” Mmbando said.

With mobile money increasingly driving financial access across the country, industry players say affordability remains a critical factor in encouraging wider participation, especially among low-income users.

Airtel Money’s new campaigns add to the company’s suite of initiatives designed to expand usage and ease transaction costs, strengthening its competitive edge in the mobile financial services sector.
