Dar es Salaam. At least 622 local companies have confirmed participation at the 40th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF) that starts on June 28, this year, organisers have said.
The exhibition will also attract participants from 28 foreign countries, according to the Tanzania Trade Development Authority (Tantrade). This year’s theme is ‘Linking Production to Markets’.
Countries that have confirmed participation are South Africa, Australia, Bulgaria and Brazil. Others are China, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Italia, Iran, Japan, Kenya, South Korea and Malawi.
According to Ms Bulondo, Tantrade is collaborating with Tanzania Revenue Authority officials to clear up goods and other materials from the port ready for the exhibition.
She added that in a bid to boost local industrial production, Tantrade has allocated a special area for local producers to promote their goods.
