The officer further said the vaccine will be administered both in schools and health centres in the city.
For his part, Dar es Salaam regional commissioner Paul Makonda, who officiated the launch of the campaign, said the initiative was aimed at ensuring that children’s health is strengthened for them to properly pursue education without interference of sicknesses.
"We need to protect our children from diseases," he said.
He urged parents, teachers and guardians to support the measure for the wellbeing of the children.
Further, the RC said that preparations towards running a prostate cancer awareness campaign were under way.
"The free testing of prostate cancer in Dar es Salaam will take place end of the year,” he said.
