Compact Energies champions clean energy for tourism at KILIFAIR 2025

Arusha. Compact Energies made a strong statement at this year’s KILIFAIR, East Africa’s premier international tourism and trade exhibition, by showcasing its innovative clean energy solutions tailored for the tourism and hospitality sector.
The event, held at Magereza Grounds in Arusha, brought together industry leaders focused on advancing sustainable travel across the region.
With sustainability becoming a key priority in the tourism value chain, Compact Energies demonstrated how its solar energy technologies are helping reshape power systems in remote and off-grid locations.
The company highlighted several successful installations, including solar-powered systems at lodges, tented camps, eco-resorts, and tourist sites across Tanzania. These solutions have significantly reduced reliance on diesel generators, cut carbon emissions, and enhanced energy reliability—key metrics for sustainable tourism.
“Tourism is one of the pillars of Tanzania’s economy, and as the sector expands, so does the demand for sustainable and efficient energy solutions,” said Mr. Ephrain Kimati of Compact Energies.
“We’re proud to partner with lodge owners and tour operators to deliver customized solar systems that not only reduce operational costs but also align with global eco-tourism standards.”
Visitors to the Compact Energies booth explored a variety of solar-powered innovations, including solar water heating systems, lithium-ion battery storage, hybrid inverter solutions, and solar setups for safari vehicles and eco-lodges.
The company also used the fair as a platform to engage with tourism investors and property developers eager to incorporate clean energy technologies into their upcoming ventures.
As sustainability continues to redefine the tourism landscape, Compact Energies reaffirmed its commitment to powering the industry’s growth with reliable and environmentally responsible energy systems. The company positions itself not only as a clean energy provider, but as a strategic partner in the evolution of Tanzania’s eco-tourism sector.
“Clean energy is no longer a luxury—it’s a necessity for responsible tourism,” Mr. Kimati added. “Our mission is to empower the sector with solutions that preserve nature, reduce costs, and drive long-term value for communities and businesses alike.”
