CUF legislator Mtulia joins CCM

Dar es Salaam. Kinondoni MP Maulid Mtulia (CUF) announced on Saturday, December 2, that he had resigned from being an MP and defected from his party to join CCM.

Mr Mtulia revealed this in his letter of resignation dated November 2, 2017 in which he said he had decided on his own free will and had not been pressured by anyone.

Explaining his decision, he said in his two years’ experience as an MP through CUF, it had come to his knowledge that the government through CCM was doing a good job of implementing its election manifesto that carried a lot of opposition promises to the people.

“My decision to resign and join the ruling party is a result of my desire to work for the people and I can only do that through CCM, which has shown its intention of bringing development to the nation through its 2015 election manifesto,” he stressed.

He noted that he had joined CCM to support President John Magufuli’s efforts to address challenges facing the people and bring about development.

He thanked the people pf his Kinondoni constituency for trusting him and giving him the privilege to serve them and promised them that he would continue working with them even as he would be in CCM.
