The bank, whose customer base stands at 120,000, has been opening branches consistently over the past years directly contributing to greater financial inclusion, according to him.
“The opening of this branch at Uhuru Street, Kariakoo is just another step in our expansion plan. We aim to open more branches in the near future,” noted Mr Cherian.
DTB, which is widely recognised as the fastest growing bank in the country, according to him, has the total assets worth Sh1 trillion.
The bank is part of the Diamond Trust Bank Group, which has a total of 124 branches across Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda and Burundi.
The bank is also an affiliate of the Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development (AKFED), the economic development arm of the Aga Khan Development Network.
