Kibaha. Over eight institutions that were allocated pieces of land for investment at the heart of the Kibaha Municipality are on the brink of facing title deed revocations for allegedly failing to develop their areas for a long time, causing economic activities in the town to stagnate.

Some of the institutions, whose undeveloped areas have turned into bushes include the mini Treasury, CRDB Bank, the Bank of Tanzania, Tanesco, Njuweni, NHI, the Open University and the Police Force.

Coast Regional Commissioner Eng Evarist Ndikilo has directed the Kibaha Municipal Council to ensure it communicated with the concerned authority to seek a permit for revoking the institutions’ title deeds that would be offered to other stakeholders, who were ready to develop those areas and ultimately boost Kibaha’s economy.

Eng Ndikilo issued the order after receiving information from Kibaha District Commissioner Halima Kihemba that the town was still looking bushy as a result of some undeveloped areas owned by different institutions.
