Dar es Salaam. Vice president, Dr Mohamed Gharib Bilal today led mourners to pay their last respects to the late MP Celina Kombani at Karimjee grounds in Dar es Salaam.
According to the family’s statement at Karimjee grounds, Kombani (56) , was admitted at TMJ Hospital in Dar es Salaam before she was taken to Apollo Hospital in India. She died of pancreatic cancer last Thursday while she was undergoing treatment at Apollo Hospital.
Speaker Anne Makinda told mourners that she was with Kombani in a meeting in Dar, but shortly afterwards Kombani reported feeling ill and demanded to be taken to her doctor at TMJ Hospital.
Before her death, Kombani was the Minister of State in the President’s Office Public Service Management and Ulanga East MP. She will be laid to rest tomorrow in Morogoro Region.
Celina Ompeshi Kombani was a Tanzanian CCM politician and Member of Parliament for the Ulanga East constituency from 2005 to 2015. She also served as minister of state in the President's office for public service management.
