Dar es Salaam. The Rotary Club of Dar es Salaam–Mikocheni has ushered in new leadership for the 2025/26 Rotary Year, with the installation of Nasibu Mahinya as Club President.

Mahinya’s appointment marks a bold step forward in youth inclusion and community service leadership across the country as the youngest Club President in Rotary District 9214.

The installation ceremony, held at King Jada Hotel in Dar es Salaam, brought together Rotarians, civic leaders, and partners from across East Africa in a colourful event themed Unite for Good, the global Rotary theme for the 2025/26 year which officially began this July.

In his inaugural address, President Mahinya laid out a forward-looking agenda that includes expanding the club’s high-impact service projects, growing membership, and increasing Rotary’s visibility particularly among youth and digital audiences.

“As we step into this New Year, we’re not just turning a page, we’re opening a new chapter that invites innovation, inclusivity, and intentional service,” he said.

His leadership is expected to attract a younger generation to Rotary’s long-standing mission of service above self, while also injecting new ideas and energy into the club’s activities.

With the 2025/26 Rotary year now underway, the Dar es Salaam–Mikocheni chapter is expected to roll out a fresh series of initiatives aligned with this year’s theme, focusing on unity, collaboration, and sustainable impact.
