The Singida Urban Water and Sanitation Authority owes Tanesco Sh510 million, a debt that has led to power disconnection, affecting water supply in Singida Town. This was explained recently by Suwasa director Patrick Nzamba, while giving a report on the status of provision of clean water in Singida Region and the implementation of projects of water authorities in Manyoni na Kiomboi towns. Clarifying, Mr Nzamba said the power disconnection by Tanesco was a major challenge to them. “For now we are trying to pay the debt whenever possible. We have asked the Ministry of Water and Irrigation to help us to settle the debt so that this challenge can be addressed,” he said.
