Samia appoints new Prisons Commissioner General

Dar es Salaam. President Samia Suluhu Hassan has appointed Jeremiah Yoram Katungu as Tanzania's new Commissioner General of Prisons (CGP).

A statement signed by the Acting Director of Presidential Communications at the State House, Ms. Sharifa Nyanga, CP Jeremiah Yoram Katungu has been promoted to the position with effect from July 28, 2024.

CGP Katungu has replaced Ramadhan Nyamka, who has retired.

He will be the 17th CGP of Tanzania since 1961.
