Tanzania woman accused of murdering husband appears in court

Moshi. Beatrice Elias, a 36-year-old resident of Katanini in Moshi Municipality, Kilimanjaro Region, stood before the Moshi Resident Magistrate's Court on Monday, June 10, 2024, facing allegations of murdering her husband, Evagro Msele, aged 43.

The tragic incident unfolded on the night of May 25th in the Pumuani A neighborhood of Moshi.

It is alleged that Beatrice, upon discovering her husband at the residence of his extramarital partner, launched a fatal attack, purportedly with a knife.

The victim, Evagro Msele, was a well-known businessman in the local community. His untimely demise has drawn the attention of relatives, friends, and acquaintances, who have gathered at the courthouse to observe the legal proceedings.

In a departure from standard protocol, Beatrice was transported to court in a private vehicle, evading the journalists who awaited her arrival for photographic and video documentation.

Consequently, they were unable to capture her entrance into the courthouse.

Currently detained, Beatrice awaits the formal reading of the charges against her as the judicial process unfolds.
