Meanwhile, football giants Simba today face an uphill task against Mbeya City as the Mainland Premier League continues at two venues.

As Simba will be at the Sokoine Stadium in Mbeya at 4pm, Singida Big Stars will be hosting Kinondoni Municipal Council (KMC) at 2pm at the Liti Stadium in Singida.

However, all eyes and ears will be directed at the Sokoine Stadium, where the Msimbazi Street heavyweights will likely be out to grab the maximum tree points in order to go top of the league standings.

Simba are now placed third with 27 points from 12 matches while Mbeya City are fifth with 18 points from 12 matches respectively.

Mbeya City also target victory in order to improve their chance in the league standings.

Speaking ahead of the match, Simba head coach Juma Mgunda exuded confidence that his team will get the points, saying that they have targeted to win every match with a view to reclaiming this year’s title.

“My players are in good shape ahead of the match and we are targeting a good result, despite facing a strong opposition from Mbeya City, who are also a good team with the aim of emerging victorious,” said Mgunda.

Mbeya City head coach Abdallah Mubiru admitted facing a strong opposition from Simba, but said his players are ready for the challenge.

“We know that it is not going to be a walk in the park. Simba have good players, but my men are determined to record a win tomorrow (today),” he said.
