Yanga, Club Africain match preps hot up as CAF names referees

Dar es Salaam. The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has selected referees from Mozambique to officiate the CAF Confederation Cup playoff between Young Africans (Yanga) and Club Africain of Tunisia scheduled to take place on Wednesday November 1 at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam.

CAF named the referees as  , Celso Armindo Alvacao to be assisted by Venestancio Tomas Cossa and Teofilo Paulo Mungoi.

The match’s fourth official is Wilson Julio Muiange while match commissioner is Michael Gasingwa from Rwanda and Zimbabwean Onias Felix Tangawarima is the referee assessor. Tanzanian Limbanga Kinyero is the Covid-19 officer.

The match officials have already arrived in the country ahead of the encounter scheduled to start from 4pm.

Yanga players are now in the intensive training ahead of the encounter and the team’s head coach Nasreddine Nabi has expressed his satisfaction with the players’ response.

Nabi said all players were in top shape and targeting to record a victory at the home ground despite the fact that they were facing tough opponents.

“Players know the importance of the match and they are all aware of that. Our target is to reach in the last 16, that is the only way to restore back respect,” he said.

According to Nabi, Mainland Tanzania NBC Premier League matches have helped them to gauge skills and fitness level of players.

“It is a good test to our technical bench since it gives us a clear vision of how to play against a team which comes with defensive approach,” he said.

Meanwhile, the lowest entrance fee for Yanga-Club Africain match is Sh3,000.

According to Yanga’s statement, the fee will be for blue and green seat fans on condition that the tickets are bought prior to the date of the match.

However, VIP B and C fans will be required to pay Sh10,000 with VIP A costing Sh15,000, but would later cost only Sh5,000 during the match.
