Ilonga Agricultural Research Institute has called on farmers to visit its pavilion during the Nane Nane Exhibition to learn various technologies to boost production.
The director of Research and Development in the Eastern Zone, Dr Geoffrey Mkamilo, told reporters yesterday at the Mwalimu Julius Nyerere grounds here that modern technologies would improve production.
The technologies to be displayed will be those of maize, sorghum, paddy, bean, pigeon pea, cow pea, green gram, cotton, sisal and sugarcane farming. “Farmers can adopt modern farming methods which use big areas of land with little production... we will have a special class during the exhibition to teach farmers new technologies.”
