Over 30 restaurants to participate in food festival in Zanzibar

Dar es Salaam. Over 30 restaurants including Park Hyatt Zanzibar’s restaurant are expected to participate in this year’s edition of the Stone Town Food Festival scheduled to be held in Zanzibar on October from 9th to 14th, 2017.
“We are very excited to be taking part in this year’s Festival, an extraordinary culinary event that we hope in the next few years will be drawing many international travelers and foodies to Zanzibar,” said Garry Friend, General Manager of Park Hyatt Zanzibar.
He added “Our vision is to use this food festival to promote tourism in Zanzibar, especially considering the fact that our island is known world over for authentic spices and herbs.”
The 6 day festival will be held across Stone Town, represented by various participating restaurants and cafes. This year will also include a 2-day ‘street food’ venue at Forodhani Gardens, already known for its evening street food vendors.
This year’s festival is expected to draw more flavors and fusion cuisines from all around Stone Town, following the successful inauguration of the festival last year with more than 20 participating restaurants that brought together some of the town’s finest and traditional restaurateurs in honor of World Food Day.
