24 winners of CRDB drive to watch Fifa WC in Russia

Dar es Salaam. CRDB Bank Plc will issue a total of 24 air tickets for its clients to go and watch this year’s Fifa World Cup finals in Russia, the bank said yesterday.

The 24 will be picked through a special campaign – codenamed: “Furahia kandanda murua nchini Urusi”#TwenzetuRussia” that will be conducted through the use of CRDB’s debt cards.

The clients will be required to pay for their various purchases using the holders and stand a chance to win in the campaign, the CRDB director of marketing, research and customer services, Tully Mwambapa said yesterday.

“Our clients, holding TemboCardVisa, TemboCardVisa-Electron, TemboCard Visa-Gold, TemboCardVisa-Platinum and TemboCardVisa-Infinite, will be required to make payments using their cards through Point of Sales (PoS) machines and increase their chances of winning in this campaign,” Mwambapa said, noting that the campaign is conducted in partnership with Visa International.

The PoS machines do not necessarily need to be those for CRDB Bank. They are available at petrol stations, supermarkets, hotels, national parks and hospitals.

The bank, she said, decided to come up with the initiative so as to give a chance for its clients to take part in the event.

She said each week, two winners – who will have made more payments through their cards than others – will be picked.

“Their trip to Russia will be fully covered by CRDB. A total of 24 tickets will be issued throughout the campaign period,” she said.

Besides, ten more people will win various prizes, including DSTV-connected television sets, uniforms of teams of various nations, footballs, caps and T-shirts among others.

The Russia finals will involve 32 national teams, which include 31 teams determined through qualifying competitions and the automatically qualified host team.
