Dar es Salaam. Hudaa Mrisho has maintained her incredible display of batting as she netted 22 runs from 40 balls to steer Tanga to a win of 28 runs against Uluguru Stars in the runs in the T20 Women’s Regional Championship yesterday.

Mrisho has been in a class of her own since the start of the tournament, which is played in the ‘round robin’ format, whereby a team with the highest score will claim the title.

The gifted cricketer scored the double digit in yesterday’s duel, putting herself on top of the table of the highest scorers with 101 runs.

Fatuma Omary of Uluguru sits second with 40 runs.

Tanga batted first to score 82 runs as Mrisho teamed up well with fellow batswomen to put the ball rolling at the Annadil Burhan ground yesterday.

The Uluguru bowlers were, however, keen enough to resist pressure from their opponents.

Mrisho was later bowled out by Perice Zakayo but Nasra Nassoro and Swaumu Godfrey maintained the high spirit to score 18 and 15 runs, respectively.

In their turn, Uluguru failed to match their rivals’ pace as their inning was fruitless.

Perice Zakayo hit 21 from 31 deliveries and Fatuma Omary snatched 14 before she hit the slump.

Meanwhile, Hudaa Mrisho also had a field day as she played an inspirational role for Tanga’s win against Mwanza. Tanga beat Mwanza by 64 runs in an exciting but one-sided match held at the same venue yesterday morning.
