Dar es Salaam. Tanzanian Bongo flava artistes, Linah Sanga and Feza Kessy will perform at the famous Nigerian annual Soundcity Urban Blast Festival scheduled to take place today in Lagos.

Talking to The Beat, Panamusiq Limited Director Doreen Noni, said that Linah and Feza are now in Lagos ready to take Nigeria by storm in the show that also lines up famous Nigerian musicians Davido, Kiss Daniel, Iyanya and Olamide.

Also in the list of performing artistes are Victoria Kimani, Runtown, Sound Sultan, Lil Kesh, Ycee, Sean Tizzle, Phyno and many others.

Doreen said that their firm has secured invitation from the event organisers and decided to pick the two musicians who are now under their contract. She said that they have prepared the two Tanzanian musicians intensively purposely to take Nigeria and other music lovers across the world by storm. According to Noni, Linah will introduce her songs, Ole Themba, Hello and Kizaizai to the Nigerian crowd while Feza will introduce her hits like My Papa and Amani ya Moyo. “This is a golden chance for our female musicians to feature in a big music festival in Nigeria, we are ready to do our best in order to secure more invitations, our singers are in top morale ahead of the show,” said Doreen who also travelled with the artistes to Lagos.

For her part, Linah said that she will make Tanzania proud with an electrifying performance. She said that she trained well in both singing and stage performance. “I am experienced at performing in front of a big crowd; my main task ahead is to make them excited with my performance. I promise to do the best in order to conquer and win over Nigerian music fans,” she said.

Linah’s resume

Linah is recognised as one of the leading female musicians in Tanzania. In her music career, she has released a number of hits such as Ole Themba, Hello Ft Christian Bella and Kizaizai featuring Diamond. She has also bagged a number of awards locally at the annual Kilimanjaro Music Awards. In 2011 she won the award for best upcoming artiste and female singer. This was followed with consecutive nominations in the category of best singer from 2012-2015. More recently, Linah struck an endorsement deal with Serengeti Breweries/Diageo to be their brand ambassador for their various products.

Feza’s resume

Feza is a former Miss Tanzania runner up who gained wide notoriety as an inmate in the Big Brother Africa Season 8 where she represented Tanzania in 2013. After getting evicted from the BB House, Feza nurtured her passion and vocation for music. Indeed Feza released her first single “Amani ya Moyo” in 2013 and recently “My papa”, a song that has strongly confirmed Feza as an up and coming musician to reckon with. With few releases in the pipeline as a solo artiste and in collaboration with international music stars, Feza is definitely due to enter the Tanzanian artistes’ hall of fame soon.
