Dar es Salaam. Singita Serengeti, Tanzania, has been named as “Best hotel in the world for service”, at ‘The Condé Nast Traveller Readers’ Travel Awards.

The hotel took a second place in the “Best Hotels in the Middle East, Africa & Indian Ocean” category, and third place in the “Top 100 Travel Experiences in the World”, according to the firm’s statement that was availed to the media in the city yesterday.

The award is in recognition for Singita Serengeti after readers of the United Kingdom edition of the United States-based Magazine and visitors voted Singita Serengeti, Tanzania the best in terms of its majestic location.

“The service pulled together by the guides, trackers, chefs, cleaners and waiters, is what creates the magic that makes this the world’s favourite place to stay for service,” says Singita Serengeti Managing Director Graham Ledger in a statement. He is hopeful that such awards are bound to benefit Tanzania as a whole, noting that they (such awards) tend to bring a lot of positive attention and enormous credibility to the host country.

“Being recognised as the best hotel in the world for service from an influential magazine like The Condé Nast Traveller is an honour and it demonstrates that Singita Serengeti is on the right track in as far as hospitality is concerned,” he said.

The acting managing director for Tanzania Tourist Board, Ms Devota Mdachi believes such an award will make it easier for the board to market Tanzania under the recently launched ‘Brand Tanzania’ campaign.
