CCM to fundraise Sh100 billion from members as it prepares for General Election

Ruling party CCM will hold a fundraising campaign ahead of the general election, Secretary General and presidential running mate Dr Emmanuel Nchimbi has announced.
Speaking at a press briefing in Dar es Salaam, Dr Nchimbi said party members were eager to support election preparations.
"In that regard, we have decided to make them part of the process by launching a fundraising campaign," he said.
CCM is targeting to raise Sh100 billion from its 13.19 million members.
The fundraising event, set to be presided over by party chair Samia Suluhu Hassan, will take place in Dar es Salaam on August 12.
