Dar es Salaam. Influential Tanzanian entertainer and social media personality Clayton Chipando, popularly known as Baba Levo, has inked a new deal to promote Digi, a line of affordable household electronic appliances set to roll out nationwide.
The initiative is designed to support the government’s goal of improving access to quality appliances for low-income households, without compromising on durability or performance.
Speaking shortly after the signing ceremony, Baba Levo said he was fully committed to using his platform to champion Digi products, which are developed in collaboration with global electronics giant Panasonic and specifically tailored for the African market.
“I’ve signed a contract to promote these products across the country,” said Baba Levo.
“I want to assure our customers and Panasonic that I’ll represent the brand with integrity and help boost sales.”
He emphasized that the products had undergone thorough review and testing.
“We are confident in the quality. These appliances are not only reliable but also top-notch,” he added.
On behalf of Panasonic, Nico Balinda, Credit Controller for Digi products, said the appliances were engineered to withstand African conditions—especially challenges like high temperatures and inconsistent power supply.
“These products are made with Africa in mind. We prioritize quality, affordability, and accessibility. Our mission is to transform how people interact with electronics on the continent,” said Balinda.
He further highlighted that unlike the influx of substandard electronics currently on the market, Digi products stand out with their energy efficiency, robust performance, and extended warranties—some lasting over five years.
“We want to give consumers peace of mind and value for their money,” he noted.
With Baba Levo’s wide-reaching influence and Digi’s mission to bring innovation within reach of everyday Tanzanians, the partnership is expected to spark a shift in consumer choices and raise the standard for affordable electronics in the country.
