London. Britain is to build a network of new munitions factories to boost its warfighting readiness, in a move aimed at restoring domestic production of military explosives for the first time in nearly two decades.
Defence Secretary John Healey is set to announce on Wednesday plans for new potential sites and confirm that construction on the first factory is expected to start next year.
