Creditinfo Tanzania and the University of Dar es Salaam have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to strengthen their cooperation in research, training, and other areas of mutual interest.

The MOU was signed by Creditinfo Tanzania Director Edwin Urasa and the University of Dar es Salaam Vice Chancellor, Professor William Anangisye.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Urasa said that the partnership will help to promote financial inclusion and facilitate access to credit in Tanzania.

"The Strategic Plan of Creditinfo Tanzania is a strategic partnership with stakeholders in driving the national agenda of financial inclusion, especially to facilitate an environment that facilitates access to funds in the country," he said.

"Therefore, this same agreement intends to establish cooperation with the University in these areas including research, and training for graduate students (internship)."

Anangisye welcomed the partnership, saying that it will benefit both the university and Creditinfo.

"This partnership will not only benefit our institutions but will also benefit students who study here to have the opportunity to enroll in training programs coordinated between the University and Creditinfo, which focus on gaining knowledge through training and sharing experiences to improve their skills, especially within the science profession of data," he said.

"This partnership will further enhance the future of business graduates who will be interested in learning more about data science and analytics."

The MOU is expected to be in place for five years, and it will be renewed automatically unless either party terminates it.
