Lulu’s jail sentence commuted to community service

Dar es Salaam. Actress Elizabeth Michael, alias Lulu, has been released from prison after the High Court commuted her two-year jail sentence to community service.
Prisons Department information officer Lucas Mboje confirmed to MCL Digital on Monday, May 14, 2018 that Lulu was released on May 9 after serving seven months of her sentence.
“It’s true that Lulu’s sentence has been commuted to community service. She was released from prison on Saturday, May 9 at around 8am. However, I wish to make it clear that she remains a prisoner, but will serve the remainder of her sentence doing community service,” said Mr Mboje.
