Samia joins Tanzanians in mourning the death of Dr Faustine Ndugulile

Dar es Salaam. President Samia Suluhu Hassan took to her X (formerly Twitter) account to express her sorrow following the untimely passing of Dr Faustine Ndugulile, the Member of Parliament for Kigamboni and the Regional Director for the World Health Organization (WHO) in Africa.
Dr Ndugulile passed away in the early hours of November 27, 2024, in India, where he had been receiving medical treatment.
In her post, President Samia conveyed her condolences, writing, "I have received with great sadness the news of the passing of Honourable Dr Faustine Ndugulile. His death is a significant loss, not only to the people of Kigamboni but to all Tanzanians.”
She added: I extend my condolences to his family, the Speaker of the National Assembly, Dr Tulia Ackson, Members of Parliament, the people of Kigamboni, his relatives, friends, and all Tanzanians. May Almighty God rest his soul in eternal peace.
The death of Faustine Ndugulile, a prominent Tanzanian politician, was confirmed by the Speaker of the National Assembly, Dr Tulia Ackson, through a statement shared on Parliament's official social media platforms.
In her statement, Dr Tulia assured that the Parliament would work closely with the family to organize the funeral arrangements and provide further updates in due course.
Faustine Ndugulile was a member of the ruling CCM party and had represented the Kigamboni constituency in Parliament since 2010.
In October 2017, he was appointed Deputy Minister for Health, and in 2020, he became the first Minister for Communication & ICT, a newly established ministry under the leadership of former President John Magufuli and continued by President Samia Suluhu Hassan.
In August 2024, Dr Ndugulile was nominated as the next Regional Director for the World Health Organization (WHO) African Region.
