Dar es Salaam. Simba SC head coach Roberto Oliveira alias Robertinho has said he still has a task to do for the team’s players despite the improvement the players have shown in the pre-season camp in Turkey.

Robertinho made the comment after the team's 2-0 victory over the Uzbekistan side, FK Turan, in Antalya, Turkey, yesterday. Simba’s goals were netted in by Kibu Dennis and John Bocco.

The match was the second for Simba in Turkey, as in the first they recorded a 1-1 draw against Zira FK, also from Azerbaijan. Simba’s goal was scored by Kibu Dennis, and that of Zira FK was scored by Rustam Akhmedzade.

The Brazilian tactician said he has been impressed with the improvement of the players in training.

However, he said he needs to sharpen the team before featuring in the forthcoming league season.

"My players are responding well to training, this shows that we are in the right direction in terms of techniques, tactics, and fitness. We still have time to attain the highest level of fitness ahead of competitions," said Robertinho.

He said the team’s new players also have responded well to training and was stunned by the excellent level of his attackers, including winger Kramo Aubin from Ivory Coast.

The trainer explained that the area that he has no problem with is the attacking midfield that has many players with high qualities, who can play more than one position. "So far, I am happy with the development that each player has shown," he said. Simba will face Zambia’s Power Dynamos on August 6 at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam to mark Simba Day before featuring in the Community Shield encounter against Singida Fountain Gate at the Mkwakwani Stadium in Tanga Region.

However, the team’s head coach will have to scratch his head over the players’ choice ahead of league matches.

The team has 12 strikers including Clatous Chama, Saido Ntibazonkiza, John Bocco, Kramo Aubin, Willy Esomba Onana, Luis Miquissone, Moses Phiri, Kibu Denis, Jimson Mwanuke, Jean Baleke, Shaban Chilunda, and Mohamed Mussa.
