“We will focus on addressing the challenges that we are facing to realise our vision,” he said.

The former national soccer team, Taifa Stars, head coach was elected Yanga chairman during the club’s general election on Sunday.

“We will focus on addressing the challenges that we are facing to realise our vision,” he said.

“I will also ensure unity prevails at our club, and that every member and fan have the right to effectively participate in protecting the club’s constitution,” he said.

He promised to put structures that would enable the Jangwani Street giants to grow bigger and more popular.

“I will also move the club to a self-sustainable institution,” he added.

He said he will ensure, during his tenure, Yanga have a stable means of income through sponsorship and gate earnings.

“We are pleased and satisfied with the progress attained so far, but we must have a stable means of income through sponsorship and gate earnings,” he added.

Msolla said his leadership will make sure all projects established by the club are developed and also establish new others.

Msolla was elected Yanga chairman after garnering 1,276 votes against his rival Jonas Tiboroha’s 60 during Sunday’s elections.

The polls, which took place at Police Officers mess in Dar es Salaam, also saw former Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) secretary general, Frederick Mwakalebela, being elected the club’s vice chairman.
