Mfaume and Pialari are set to fight once again after the latter received an injury from an illegal headbutt in their last fight.
The Tanzania Professional Boxing Regulatory Commission (TPBRC) has disclosed that Mfaume Mfaume and Iddi Pialari will square off once more in the upcoming months.
The fight between the two boxers, which was scheduled to last 10 rounds and take place on Boxing Day at the Arusha International Conference Centre, was called off in the first round because Pialari had his left eye injured.
Pialari was hurt by head-butting when the two boxers fought for just one minute and five seconds, according to TPBRC Secretary General Yahya Poli. Due to Pialari’s critical injuries, the fight’s physician advised the organisers to call it off.
Poli said that TPBRC consulted the bout organisers and agreed to re-arrange the bout. “After obtaining a promoter, we will announce the fight’s date and location. We do, however, give the present promoter, Peak Time, a chance to organise the bout,” Poli stated.
According to the laws and regulations governing the game, Poli stated, there is now no winner of the match.
“They will schedule a rematch to put an end to the debate since it had not advanced to the fourth round and there is no champion,” he stated.
“There is no champion because the battle did not last four rounds due to boxing’s procedures and rules. In the fight, they clashed and Pialari was the most affected,” he said.
Pialari, however, asserted that his opponent purposefully committed a foul to end the contest since he was aware that he would not do well against him.
“We concur with the outcomes, but everyone has witnessed how the fight played out and the strategies employed by Pialari’s opponent to put an end to it.” he said.
