Top junior golfer Shufaa for Kenya’s Stroke Play event

Dar es Salaam. Tanzania’s promising junior golfer, Shufaa Twalib, is set to compete in the Kenya Ladies Golf Union (KLGU) Amateur Stroke Play Championships scheduled to take place from Friday to 4 at the renowned Sigona Golf Course.
Shufaa, who currently plays off a handicap of 10, will be joined by Tanzania’s top golfers Madina Idd and Vicky Elias for the prestigious regional event.
According to Tanzania Ladies Golf Union (TLGU) competition secretary-general Rehema Athuman, Shufaa’s inclusion reflects the union’s ongoing commitment to nurturing emerging talent.
“Shufaa is an up-and-coming junior golfer who has shown great potential. Her dedication and recent performances convinced us to support her participation in the Kenyan tournament,” said Rehema.
She emphasized TLGU’s goal to develop and promote young female golfers who can raise the national flag in international events. “TLGU is investing in junior development, and Shufaa is one of the players who has demonstrated she has what it takes to succeed at the top level. We believe this experience will be a valuable step in her career.”
The Kenya Amateur Stroke Play Championships is expected to attract top female golfers from across the region, providing a competitive environment for players to test their skills and gain international exposure.
Rehema also praised the overall progress of Tanzanian women golfers, citing consistent performances in both local and international competitions.
“We are proud of the achievements of players like Madina and Vicky, who continue to represent Tanzania with distinction.,” she said.
