Dodoma. The government has reiterated its pledge to issue Sh50 million to all villages, to improve rural economy.

The ruling CCM made the promise to give villages across the country the aforementioned amount during the 2015 General Election campaigns. The reiteration to walk the talk on the promise was made by deputy minister in the Prime Minister’s Office (Policy, Parliamentary Affairs, Labour, Employment, Youth and the Disabled), Mr Antony Mavunde. He was reacting to a supplementary question by Chadema Special Seats MP Maryam Msabaha, who sought to know when the money would be issued to the villages, to empower people economically.

“The disbursement is in the pipeline. It is just a matter of time,” said Mr Mavunde.

He said it was the government’s commitment to empowering youth and women in various areas.
