Bank installs cash deposit machine

Dar es Salaam. Exim Bank Tanzania clients will now be able to deposit their US dollar notes directly to their accounts at a machine.

The 19-year-old bank yesterday launched its cash deposit machine (CDM) here.

The CDM has been installed at the Pacific International Lines (PIL) offices and at Maktaba Square.

“The CDM which has recently been placed at PIL will exclusively be used by PIL and their clients for depositing cash in US dollars of all denominations,” the bank said yesterday.

The CDM has the capability of accepting all US dollar denominations and issue receipts to depositor.

It also detects counterfeit notes or affected cash through its multilevel security features.

The CDM credits a customers’ account instantly while sending key reports for enabling reconciliations to both customers and the to the bank.

The Exim Bank Tanzania Group’s head of branch operations, Mr Eugen Massawe, said yesterday that the launch simplifies means of transactions between the bank and its clients.

According to him, the CDM is designed to further promote self-service culture thus embedding control in the hands of the customer.

“The depositor will also receive an SMS/ email alert, if he or she subscribes to the service,” he explained.
