Tanzania police spokesperson Advera Bulimba, said that already a contractor, KOTES (T) Limited had started to construct optic cable networks to connect the Dar es Salaam-based stations with the National ICT Broadband Backbone (NICTBB).
Dar es Salaam. Police will soon start using improved communication systems after completion of connecting all its major stations with an optic fibre network in the country.
Tanzania police spokesperson Advera Bulimba, said that already a contractor, KOTES (T) Limited had started to construct optic cable networks to connect the Dar es Salaam-based stations with the National ICT Broadband Backbone (NICTBB).
“This project is part of the ongoing modernisation of the police force to improve its capacity for strengthening security of citizens and their assets. We are starting with Dar es Salaam and will spread country wide,” said Ms Bulimba during the weekend interview.
According to her, the police force is set to use ICT broadband backbone in increasing efficiency in communication services for effective combating of crimes and protecting people’s lives and property.
“This is part and parcel of the overall police reforms which started in 2009 and are expected to end next year with a major objective of transforming the police force into a modern force in the provision of security services,” she said.
