Dar es Salaam. With four months left for the annual Sauti za Busara festival to take place, organisers have named the dates for the event plus the entry charges.
According to sources at Stone Town, the festival will take place between 13 and 16 February 2014 at the Old Fort featuring more than 300 musicians.
The festival which runs under the theme of ‘African music under African skies’ will also feature an open-air film programme, a marketplace, a carnival parade, and networking events for arts professionals.
Organisers have also released the first list of local performers who will grace the four nights of music and dance.
They include Swahili Vibes from Zanzibar, Hoko Roro, Abantu Madingo, Seven Survivors, Segere Original, Baladna Taarab, Tausi Women’s Group, Jhikoman and many others. The festival will be preceded by a Sauti za Busara Dar Special, in Dar es Salaam on Friday, 29 November 2013 at Triniti Bar.
