Bakhresa receives ISO certification for flour mills

Bakhresa Group gets kudos from a global organisation for quality management, occupational and health safety as well as outstanding environmental systems of its four mills.
Dar es Salaam. Bakhresa Group has received four International Standard Organisation (ISO) certificates for its flour mills, which produce and distribute the Azam brand of wheat flour.
They were issues on October 31, 2018 after the company complied with international criteria in producing food.
The certificates are ISO 9001: 2015 Quality Management System, ISO 22000: 2018 Food Safety Management System, ISO 18001: 2007 Occupation Safety and Health Management System and ISO 14001: 2015 Environmental Management System.
The managing director of ACM LTD, the US-based internationally accredited company for ISO certification, Mr Andrew Rowe, said the ISO system compliance certification recognised and emphasised compliance to Tanzanian authorities as interested parties.
“They are the Tanzania Bureau of Standards, Tanzania Food and Drugs Authority, Occupation Safety and Health Authority, National Environment Management Council and other regulatory authorities to which the company is required to comply.”
Mr Rowe congratulated the company on its achievements and urged it to maintain the level.
Bakhresa Group corporate affairs director Hussein Sufian appreciated ISO for providing clear and systematic guidance that continuously enabled the company to meet customers’ requirements.
“We are delighted to receive these international awards for our flour mills in Buguruni, Mzizima, and Kipawa,” said Mr Sufian.
According to him, the ISO compliance has increased the capacity of the company to address issues related to compliance and facilitate its mission to consistently serve Tanzanians with quality and safe products.
