Chalamila asks UDA Rapid Transit to fix buses, train drivers

Dar es Salaam. The Dar es Salaam Regional Commissioner, Mr Albert Chalamila, has directed UDA Rapid Transit to repair the damaged buses in order to prevent commuters from being stranded.

Mr Chalamila also asked the bus operator to conduct a customer care sensitization seminar for BRT bus drivers.

This follows the RC's visit to the Bus BRT project to hear wananchi's thoughts on UDA-RT's service operations.

The tour from Jangwani to Mbezi Louise Bus Stand comes after it was reported on October 11 this year about chaotic transportation at Kimara BRT station.

"I've been told that 70 buses have broken down. I recommend that you fix the buses in order to alleviate commuter transit issues. I expect the problem to be resolved within two weeks; if not, we will find another service provider," Mr Chalamila said.

He also urged the Dar Rapid Transit Authority (Dart) to expedite the procurement of new buses.
