Little-known Iringa school tops Form Six exam results

The legendary Mzumbe Secondary School of Morogoro Region has slipped out of the top ten after claiming second spot last year.
Dar es Salaam. Little-known Igowole Secondary School of Iringa Region was the best performer in the 2014 Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education (ACSEE), whose results were announced yesterday.
Feza Boys Secondary School, which took second position, is the only Dar es Salaam school in the top ten.
It was the first time Igowole came tops in results that saw several other newcomers make the top ten.
Other relatively unknown schools that performed well include Kasimiri Secondary School of Arusha Region (3); Iwawa Secondary School of Njombe Region (4); Nangwa Secondary of Manyara Region (7) and Uwata Secondary School of Mbeya Region (8). Kawawa Secondary School of Iringa Region was tenth.
Feza Boys climbed one place, while Marian Girls Secondary School of Coast Region dropped to sixth.
The legendary Mzumbe Secondary School of Morogoro Region has slipped out of the top ten after claiming second spot last year. The best performing regions this year are Iringa and Coast, which have two schools each in the top ten.
The once-prestigious Tambaza Secondary School is the only Dar es Salaam school in the list of the ten worst performers. Only seven schools have worse results than Tambaza countrywide. Osward Mang’ombe Secondary School of Mara Region is the year’s worst performer.
The school was recently presented with new buildings by Musoma Rural MP Nimrod Mkono.
