The Premier said this on Tuesday night at a dinner event prepared by CCM MPs, to bid farewell to the retired SG Mr Kinana and also welcome the incoming Dr Bashiru.
Chairman of CCM MPs caucus Mr Kassim Majaliwa has welcomed the new party Secretary General Dr Bashiru Ally, assuring him know that he is in safe hands. Mr Majaliwa said that the unity within the party is the pillar of victory in the 2015 elections under Mr Abdurahman Kinana who has just retired. He assured Dr Bashiru that CCM would win in the local government by elections that will be held in 2019. The Premier said this on Tuesday night at a dinner event prepared by CCM MPs, to bid farewell to the retired SG Mr Kinana and also welcome the incoming Dr Bashiru. Mr Majaliwa promised Dr Bashiru that they will continue in the same spirit of unity that Kinana had built “Dr Bashiru Ally, our Secretary General, we want to assure you fulfilling the party manifesto, development works, and getting votes are fruits of unity among the MPs. Every MP must work hard for us to win. And we are not ready to lose any seat,” Mr Majaliwa said, and added: “You are in safe hands. We will protect you. We will speak for you. The MPs are ready to fight for you. We believe that with the unity that we have, we will win in the coming by-elections. Please be assured, that you are in safe hands.” Apart from CCM MPs, others who attended the event were Speaker Job Ndungai and his Deputy Dr Tulia Ackson.
