Dar es Salaam. A breed of chicken called Silkie, that was previously being sold at Sh800,000 has been bought at Sh700,000. It was purchased on Thursday evening.

The cock was a huge attraction at the National Service pavilion at the ongoing Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF) because of its price and its long blossoming feathers.

Speaking to The Citizen, the National Service animal keeper and farmer at the pavilion, Joshua Buberwa, said the cock was the second to be sold at the same price.

He said he sold the first one before the 42nd DITF at Sh600,000.

"There was someone that bought it at Sh600,000 and this is the first to be sold at this price" said Buberwa.

"Tomorrow I will bring other cocks, although I obtain them a bit far from Kibaha military camp," said Buberwa.
