Yas unveils “Anzia Ulipo Biashara Expo” to boost local entrepreneurs at Sabasaba

Dar es Salaam. Telecom firm Yas has unveiled the Anzia Ulipo Biashara Expo platform at the ongoing 49th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair, popularly known as Sabasaba, aiming to empower emerging entrepreneurs and fuel Tanzania’s growing business sector.
The launch, held yesterday at the Mwalimu Nyerere Fair Grounds, saw 20 entrepreneurs—sponsored by Yas—given a platform to exhibit their products and services. The initiative is part of Yas’s broader commitment to support Tanzanians at the start of their entrepreneurial journeys.
Speaking at the event, Mr Robert Kasulwa, Yas’s Southern Dar es Salaam Regional Manager, said the platform is anchored in the national Anzia Ulipo campaign, which encourages Tanzanians to begin their ventures using the resources at their disposal, while striving for bigger goals.
“The entrepreneurs we have sponsored were chosen for their courage, creativity, and vision,” said Mr Kasulwa. “Through Sabasaba, they now have an opportunity to promote their businesses, gain knowledge, and build networks that can take their dreams to a national stage.”
Mr Kasulwa noted that Yas continues to play a role in social and economic development through digital solutions such as Mixx by Yas, alongside modern internet infrastructure powered by 4G and 5G technologies. These tools, he said, enable Tanzanians to work smarter and grow their businesses.
“We believe success can begin from anywhere, as long as someone has a dream, determination, and the right partner. Yas provides those critical tools and a platform to showcase the potential of Tanzanians,” he said.
Mr Kasulwa also urged the public to visit the special pavilion during the trade fair.
“We invite all Tanzanians attending Sabasaba to visit the Anzia Ulipo Biashara Expo pavilion and witness firsthand the creativity and innovative products from our entrepreneurs. This is a chance to support fellow Tanzanians who dared to start their journey,” he said.
The Sabasaba exhibition runs until July 8, 2025, with the Anzia Ulipo pavilion open daily for visitors keen to explore local innovations and entrepreneurial talent.
