Dar es Salaam. Simba captain John Bocco yesterday at the Sheikh Amri Abeid Stadium in Arusha became the star of his team when he scored three (hatrick) out of seven goals against Coastal Union in the ongoing Vodacom Premier League .

This is the second time for Simba to score many goals against Coastal Union as in May 25 last year, Simba won 8-1 at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.

Bocco’s hatrick is the second since the start of the league as JKT Tanzania striker Adam Adam was the first to score three goals in one match when his team beat Mwadui FC 6-1 at the Mwadui Complex on October 10. Speaking after the encounter, Bocco said he is very happy to help his team regain their winning streak after drawing 1-1 against traditional rivals Young Africans (Yanga) on November 5 at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.

“My target is to help my team win the title for the fourth time in a row and if that happens and I also win the golden boot award, it will be fine to me,” said Bocco.

Bocco is now leading the scoring chart after scoring seven goals to beat both Prince Dube of Azam FC and Adam Adam of JKT Tanzania, who have scored six goals each.

Apart from Bocco, Simba’s other goals were scored by Hassan Dilunga, Benard Morrison and Clatous Chama, who scored two goals in the encounter. The result means Simba have now collected 23 points as top team Azam FC have so far collected 25 points. Azam FC lost 1-0 to KMC at the Uhuru Stadium yesterday. KMC’s goal was scored by Reliant Lusajo. This is the second defeat suffered by Azam FC since the start of the league. Yanga are the only team in the league, who are yet to lose a match. Yanga today play Namungo FC at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium from 7pm.

In another match, Gwambina won 2-0 against JKT Tanzania and Polisi Tanzania recorded a goalless draw against Ihefu at the Azam Complex in Dar es Salaam.
