Dar es Salaam. Despite losing to hosts, Zimbabwe in the opening match of the Pepsi ICC Africa Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier, the national team coach, Khalil Rehemtullah has said that the local ladies will wake up from slumber to win other forthcoming matches.

According to the tournament’s fixture, Tanzania were yesterday expected to play Uganda late in the evening yesterday in a match that they had to win to keep the ball rolling.
Tanzania competes against hosts, Zimbabwe, Kenya and Uganda in the four-nation event.
Tanzania has participated in the qualifiers several times but failed to qualify for the global World Cup final.
Zimbabwe and South Africa were most successful teams in the in the qualifiers.
The local cricketers participated in the World Cup Qualifiers for the first time in 2006 and finished runner up after losing to Zimbabwe.
