Swimmers excel at Taliss tourney

Dar es Salaam. Eleven swimmers have emerged winners in different age categories of the Taliss Swimming Championship held International school of Tanganyika (IST), Upanga.
Dar Swim Club’s girl, Lidia Janik was overall winner in the Under-10 category after winning three gold medals, one silver and one bronze.
Lidia scored 132 points in freestyle, butterfly, backstroke and individual medley styles.
She was followed by Rania Karume of International School Zanzibar (ISZ) who scored 124 points and Dar Swim Club’s Anna-Clara Azzoni came third with the score of 107.
In the boys’ category, Marin De Villard of Dar Swim Club won gold medal with 188 points and was followed by teammate Emanuele Moroni who scored 110 points while Terry Tarimo of Taliss came third with 96 points.
In the Under-8 years ( girls category), Charlotte Sanford of Morogoro International school won the first position with 142 points while Lisa DI Stefano of Dar Swim Club won second position with 108 and Natalia Ladha of Taliss Swim club came with 94 points.
In the boys’ discipline, Ellis Anderson of Wahoo won the title 148 points and was followed by Sahal Harunani of Bluefins who had 90 points asGaspard De Villeneuve of Dar Swim Club grabbed the third position after registering 84 points.
In the girls’ category, Celina Itatiro of Dar Swim Club won gold medals after scoring 212 points and was followed by Natalie Sanford of Morogoro International School after scoring 202 points.
The results show that Smriti Gokarn of Dar Swim Club won top position in the girls aged between 13 and 14 years after scoring 232 points and was followed by Emma Imhoff of Mwanza Swim Club with 166 points.
In the boys’ category, Dennis Mhini of Morogoro International School won the top position after scoring 180 points and was followed by Taliss swimmers, Harry Mclntosh and Harry Jensen in second and third with 168 and 120 points, respectively.
