Scores of soccer fans join President Magufuli at the National Stadium
Dar es Salaam. Scores of Simba Sports Club fans turned up at the National Stadium to witness President John Magufuli crowning the Mainland champions, Simba Sports Club.
President Magufuli attends the match at the National Stadium between Simba Sports Club and Kagera Sugar for the first time since ascending to power.
Fans started to arrive at the National Stadium from at 8am (Saturday) while donning red and white jerseys to admire the Msimbazi Street club being crowed as the champions after struggling for six years in vain to win the title.
It was the busy day at the National Stadium as the fans were singing various songs to praise their club for acquiring top honors in this season.
it was an historic occasion at the national stadium which also saw few Young Africans fans witnessing the crowning. Young Africans are the traditional rivals of Simba.
Apart of crowning Simba, the President also received the East and Central Africa U-17 trophy won by the Mainland Tanzania U-16 national soccer team, Serengeti Boys.
