Chamber pledges to ensure high quality products

According to him, the chamber which has more than 200 members will operate ethically and create more jobs for Tanzanians.

Dar es Salaam. The Kariakoo Chinese Chamber of Commerce (KCCC) has promised to adhere to Tanzania’s product standards.

It says by so doing it will protect the image of the Chinese manufacturers.

KCCC chairman Tu Qiang said the chamber would continue working with all relevant stakeholders to create a conducive working environment for Chinese nationals and locals. “Kariako is no doubt one of the biggest commercial centres in Tanzania and East Africa at large where many Chinese businesspeople operate.

“With this regard, we shall continue working with relevant authorities to ensure that our members supply high-quality Chinese products in the local market,” Tu said.

According to him, the chamber which has more than 200 members will operate ethically and create more jobs for Tanzanians.

He said the chamber would continue abiding by the Tanzanian laws in having work and residence permits for its members.

“It is indeed paramount for our members to pay all taxes in accordance with the law.”

KCCC has also promised to treat its workers well. “This is vital in fostering ties between China and Tanzania.”
