Airtel launches campaign to reward customers in new campaign

Dar es Salaam. In a move aimed at enhancing customer satisfaction and strengthening its leadership in the mobile money market, Airtel Money has on Thursday unveiled a new promotion to offer users the chance to earn bonuses for their daily transactions.

The initiative is part of telco’s broader vision to expand its mobile money ecosystem and make financial services more accessible and inclusive for Tanzanians.

Speaking at the launch event of the promotion dubbed “JiBoost with Airtel Money” Andrew Rugamba, Airtel Money Director, said customers can now benefit more from their transactions, underscoring the company's leadership in innovative mobile money solutions.

“We are thrilled to introduce the ‘JiBoost with Airtel Money’ campaign as part of our commitment to delivering value to our customers. This promotion is designed to reward customers for using Airtel Money in their everyday lives. Whether it’s buying airtime, purchasing bundles, or making bill payments like LUKU or government services, every transaction gets them closer to earning a Super Bonus," Rugamba said.

Airtel brand ambassador Bongo Flava star Diamond Platnumz also shared his enthusiasm for the campaign.

“Airtel Money has always made life easier for us all, and now with JiBoost, you not only get the convenience of fast transactions, but you also get something back! It’s an opportunity for us all to save and earn while we spend. This is a game-changer, and I’m proud to be part of it,” he said.

Adding some lightheartedness to the event, comedian Joti, portraying "Mr. Money," entertained the audience while highlighting the benefits of the promotion.

 “Every time you pay for your TV, LUKU, or buy airtime, you’re getting closer to a bonus. JiBoost is here to make everyday spending fun and rewarding,” he said.

The campaign allows Airtel Money users to earn super bonuses of up to Sh20,000 by completing eligible transactions such as Airtel-to-Airtel transfers, airtime recharges, bundle purchases, LUKU payments, government payments, and TV subscriptions.

Once a qualifying transaction is completed, customers will receive an SMS notification confirming the bonus. As they continue to make transactions, they will accumulate incremental bonuses up to the maximum limit of Sh20,000.

All bonuses will be credited to the customer's Airtel Money account, and each bonus will trigger an SMS alert to keep users informed of their progress.
