Dar es Salaam. Tanzania’s envoys in the CAF Confederation Cup, Young Africans (Yanga), today play a crucial encounter against Tunisian side Union Sportive Monastirienne at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam.

The match will kickoff at 7pm Tanzanian time and it is a must to win for Tanzania’s giants in order to qualify for the quarterfinal stage of the competition.

The encounter will be officiated by Chadian referees and Alhadji Allaou Mahamat will be at the centre while Bogola Issa and Issa Yaya will be his assistants. The match’s fourth official is Pousri Armi Alfred.

Yanga are in group D holding the second position and victory will make them collect 10 points that neither TP Mazembe of DR Congo nor Real Bamako of Mali can reach. Union Sportive Monastirienne have already qualified for the knockout stage of the competition after collecting 10 points by winning three matches and drawing once.

In the first match held in Tunis, Yanga lost 2-0. Yanga head coach Nesreddine Nabi said they are taking the encounter seriously and their target is to emerge victorious.

He said all the mistakes that made them lose 2-0 have been rectified and they now expect the maximum commitment of the players in the match.

However, Yanga have managed to do their best at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, where they have won two matches. In Bamako, the Jangwani Street giants drew 1-1 against Real Bamako.

Nabi said all his players are in good form and ready to deliver their best against one of the tough teams in the competition.

“All preparations for the match are complete and my players are ready to deliver their best. We have taken all precautions as we know the strength of the team.
